Distorted Update and Overthink
Single author
Overthinking in decision making processes is a common phenomenon that can lead to suboptimal outcomes. In this paper, I propose a novel model of distorted update to explain overthinking behavior under a stepwise reasoning framework. The model uses distorted beliefs that individuals use when filtering information.
